Resvertrol: What is it and what are it's benefits?

Resvertrol, like Vitamins A and C, is an antioxidant found in plants. Grapes, Peanuts, Red Wine, Japanese Knotweed, and Blueberries are some of the most common sources of resvertrol.

Resveratrol was recently in the news because scientists discovered that it extended the life of mice and worms in the lab. That "longevity factor" made resveratrol quite newsworthy and thus vitamin and supplement makers started producing it quickly.

While Resveratrol has found success in the lab, its red wine counterparts like OPCs haven't garnered the same notariety. Therefore, it's not clear yet which of red wine's abundant antioxidants are responsible for its health benefits.
